Blue Systems Rolls Out its Rideshare Data Manager at LAX Airport
Los Angeles – March 5, 2026 – Blue Systems has launched its Rideshare Data Manager, powered by Gridwise, at Los Angeles World Airports (“LAWA”), enabling deeper insights into Uber and Lyft trips serving Los Angeles International Airport (“LAX”). The deployment extends Blue Systems’ legacy in its home state of California, specifically in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, with one of the busiest airport systems in the world.
As LAWA undertakes a major transformation of roadways and access through its Airfield and Terminal Modernization Program and the build-out of new connections to the LAX Metro Transit Center and automated people mover system, high-quality data on how passengers are currently arriving and departing has become critical. These projects aim to reduce traffic congestion, reconfigure terminal access, and improve connections to rideshare, bus transit, and intermodal facilities – all objectives that depend greatly on accurate information about trip activity.
As Uber and Lyft have become core parts of airport ground access, many airports still lack a clear, unified view of what those trips look like in practice – especially when it comes to pricing. Blue Systems’ Rideshare Data Manager brings trip-level information into a single airport-focused dashboard, including total fare, pick-up and drop-off locations and patterns, dwell times, and time- and location-based information. For LAWA, this means that staff can finally see what passengers pay to get to and from LAX, how those costs compare to other access modes, and how pricing and service conditions shape traveler choices and equity outcomes.
By combining real Uber and Lyft trip data with Blue Systems’ analytics, LAWA:
- Quantify what passengers pay for rideshare trips to and from the airport and how those prices vary by time of day, origin, and destination.
- Identify congestion and dwell-time hotspots in pick-up and drop-off zones, supporting more efficient curb and roadway operations.
- Compare rideshare trip behavior against evolving roadway and people mover plans, ensuring new infrastructure and policies reflect actual traveler behavior and pricing sensitivity.
- Inform more data-driven discussions around ground transportation fees and traveler costs, in a context where riders and drivers have raised concerns about rising airport-related charges and their impact on affordability.
“LAWA is rethinking how people access LAX, and rideshare is at the center of that story,” said Pierre Bouffort, Head of Product at Blue Systems and one of the head technology architects on this project. “With our Rideshare Data Manager, LAWA and ABM now have direct visibility into what passengers are paying and where those trips are happening, so they can align infrastructure investments, landside mobility management, and airport parking pricing strategies with real-world behavior.”
Blue Systems is proud to build on its work with Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (“DFW”), another one of the busiest hubs in the nation. This new deployment with LAWA continues to show how airports can leverage verified, trip-level Uber and Lyft data for smarter, more equitable ground access planning.
